On the model front, Kenya Hunt has been pretty good to us throughout 2023, giving us actual fashion models as British ELLE‘s cover stars (including Sara Grace Wallersted, Cara Delevingne and Mayowa Nicholas). Hunt is adding Rosemary Ferguson to the list with the magazine’s double December 2023/January 2024 offering. Following a comeback on the Miu Miu Spring 2024 catwalk during PFW, the British model-turned-nutritionist and first face of Miuccia Prada’s diffusion line back in 1993, poses for photographer Liz Collins. In the minimalist cover image which heralds the revival of 90s fashion, Rosemary wears Fendi as chosen for the occasion by stylist Anne-Marie Curtis.
“Terrible. Who thought that styling and expression was cover material?” asked kokobombon, the moment the cover struck.
“That hair, that clothes, that expression, the rough makeup… it looks like she just cleaned up and they took the photo!” shrieked an unimpressed DK92.
MModa wasn’t feeling it either, adding: “The cover photograph is very unappealing! She could look so much better. The angle, facial expression, and hairstyle are a big NO for me. The image should not have seen the light of day.”
In complete agreement was vogue28, sharing: “What an unflattering cover image! Goodness grief, cannot believe the magazine thought this was a good idea, even more so to be worthy of sitting on newsstands for a whole two months (and over the festive holiday season). Dumbfounded, to be honest.”
“This cannot be the best shot they had, from whatever they decided to do,” voiced tigerrouge.
“Eddie Redmayne looking confused as hell,” laughed dmliev.
